A microphone that uses two charged plates of metal to translate sound waves into changing electrical pulses. The changing electrical charge is very slight and requires a pre-amplifying circuit. Condensor microphones require external power from a battery or phantom power to operate. Condensor microphones tend to capture the delicate nuances and anything that's percussive much better than a dynamic microphone. |
