- Sound absorption is the change of sound energy into some other form,
usually heat, in passing through a medium or on striking a surface.
- At a specified frequency or in a specified frequency
band, property of a material or an object whereby sound energy is converted into
heat by propagation in a medium or when sound strikes the boundary between two
media.
