A device for changing electrical signals to acoustical or vice versa, such as a
microphone or loudspeaker.
A device capable of being actuated by energy from one or more
transmission systems or media and of supplying related energy to one or
more other transmission systems or media, as a microphone, a
thermocouple, etc. The energy in input and output may be of the same or
different types (e.g., electric, mechanical, or acoustic).
A device that converts one form of energy to another. Examples are
loudspeakers which change electrical energy into acoustical energy and
microphones that change acoustical energy into electrical energy.
