A natural force exerted on a body toward the earth's surface
or between two bodies. Gravity has a strong effect on how matter interacts.
Gravitational attraction depends on the masses of the bodies involved and the
distance between them. Centrifugal force caused by the earth's rotation on its
axis tends to lessen the force of gravity.
