(PAHs) These compounds are large
ring aromatic hydrocarbons that are molecules containing carbon and hydrogen. It
could also be any large ring that consists of five or more cyclic compounds of
carbons and any elements that may be bonded to the ring. They usually exist in
nature in low amounts. Many times these hydrocarbons exist within the atmosphere
in the aerosol phase from combustion processes.
