A drum on which conductor cable is wound, including one or more collector rings
and associated brushes, by means of which an electric circuit is made between
the stationary winding on the locomotive or other mining device and the
trailing cable that is wound on the drum. The drum may be driven by an electric
motor, by a hydraulic motor, or mechanically from an axle on the machine.
