Cap made of rigid, strong materials such as vulcanized fiber, glass fiber or
plastic, which protects a worker from injury caused by falling objects, large
chips, or by striking the head against projecting materials. The cap has a
cradle to cushion the shock of blows and a sweat band to absorb perspiration; it
is water resistant and nonconductive. A front visor shields the face and eyes
from overhead glare, and makes the cap suitable for wear in close, confined
spaces where a full brim might interfere.
