(CCT) A humanistic existential insight therapy, developed by Carl Rogers, which
emphasizes the importance of the therapist’s understanding the client’s
subjective experiences and assisting him or her to gain more awareness of
current motivations for behavior. The goal is not only to reduce anxieties but
also to foster actualization of the client’s potential. This form of
psychotherapy consists of an equal relationship between therapist and client as
the client searches for his or her inner self, receiving unconditional positive
regard and an empathic understanding from the therapist.
