- A structure in the brain associated with the regulation of emotions and the
transfer of information from short term memory to long term memory.
- Olfactory brain; a sea-horse-shaped structure located within the brain that
is an important part of the limbic system. The hippocampus is involved in
some aspects of memory, in the control of the autonomic functions, and in
emotional expression.
