View source for Bag net

(trawl net): A type of traditional fishing apparatus used by aboriginal people. It involved pulling a bag-shaped net downstream through the water into the path of fish migrating upstream. The net's mouth would be closed when fish were felt in the net. They are commonly used in slower, silty waters.
