Johannes Scotus Erigena (815-877 AD)

An Irish-Scottish philosopher in France who developed Scholastic Philosophy (scholasticism), the core of which was the doctrine of the continuity and interdependence of the natural with respect to the supernatural order of truth. Scholasticism included the methods and doctrines of the Christian philosophers of the Middle Ages, and its sources were the writings of the church fathers and of Aristotle and his Arabian commentators.
