Modulation

• Acoustics: Changing a radio signal so that it transmits an audio signal. When a receiver picks up the modulated signal, it converts it back into the original audio signal. Source: Church Audio & Acoustics Glossary
• Electronics: The process of modifying an r-f carrier signal to produce sidebands for conveying audio or video signal information over great distances.
